The University of Kansas Office of Civil Rights & Title IX is proud to host the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine 2026 Public Summit on Preventing Sexual Harassment in Higher Education.
This marks the first time this summit will be hosted in the heartland, bringing together higher education leaders, researchers, practitioners, students, and community members to explore evidence-based approaches that strengthen institutional culture, promote accountability, and foster communities of respect.
This summit is free and open to all. Whether you attend in person or virtually, we invite you to join this important conversation.

About The National Academies’ Action Collaborative on Preventing Sexual Harassment:
The Action Collaborative provides a space where colleges, universities, and other research and training institutions move beyond legal compliance to evidence-based policies and practices to address and prevent all forms of sexual harassment and promote a culture of respect in higher education. It is guided by a 2018 National Academies report, which concluded that system-wide changes to the culture and climate in higher education were needed and provided a roadmap for these changes. The Action Collaborative supports these system-wide changes to prevent and address sexual harassment experienced at higher education institutions, and to deal with other damaging behaviors, including other forms of harassment and illegal discrimination (e.g. by race, disability, age, religion, national origin), as well as bullying and incivility.
