Impact Advisors

What are Impact Advisors? The role of the Impact Advisor within academic, administrative, and affiliate units on campus is to serve as a professional liaison between their units and the Office of Civil Rights & Title IX. The Impact Advisor serves to align their unit with campus priorities in initiatives while representing the unit leader to facilitate and support unit activities that foster safety and belonging for all students, staff, and faculty on KU’s campuses.

Overview 

All Impact Advisors are required to have strategic goals to contribute to their unit’s Jayhawks Rising efforts, with attention to cultivating a community where each Jayhawk thrives. Each quarter, the Impact Advisor Quarter Report lists the strategic goals Impact Advisors submitted and the updates they provided for the previous three months of work. Our office tracks and documents their progress for transparency, accountability, and stewardship. We encourage Impact Advisors to share updates on their goals more regularly with their department’s or unit’s community and leadership. 

The Office of Civil Rights & Title IX provides Impact Advisors with resources to help establish and track their goal progress, including university data sets, target metrics, and possible resources.

Impact Advisors indicate how their goals contribute to university and unit strategic plans. Each goal may be connected to one or more Jayhawks Rising institutional priorities.
