About
The Faculty Staff Councils at KU are self-governing bodies. The Office of Civil Rights & Title IX Impact & Belonging team supports each council and acts as a point of contact between the councils and our campus communities.

Asian and Asian American Faculty Staff Council
The Asian and Asian-American Faculty and Staff Council (AAAFSC), serves to advance the professional growth, social support, and full participation of Asians and Asian-Americans at the University. It is a resource for information sharing, networking, and leadership.
Faculty Staff Council for Disability Inclusion
The Faculty Staff Council for Disability Inclusion promotes, recommends, and advocates for a climate of full inclusion across all aspects of life at the University of Kansas and beyond. The Council meets monthly to discuss disability issues, provide resources and expertise, promote disability as an integral component of diversity and develop policies to further advance the goal of full inclusion of individuals with disabilities.
International Faculty and Staff Council
The International Faculty and Staff Council supports and encourages advocacy within the international community at KU. The goal of the council is to gain membership, build the council’s infrastructure, and begin work on advocating for some of the greatest challenges of the international faculty and staff community at KU.
Latinx Faculty Staff Council
The mission of the Latinx Faculty and Staff Council (LFSC) at the University of Kansas is to provide a forum for understanding the issues of concern to the Latinx academic community, assist the university in recruiting and retaining Hispanic/Latinx students, faculty, and staff, and provide networking opportunities for Hispanic/Latinx faculty and staff.
Sexuality and Gender Diversity Faculty Staff Council
The Sexuality and Gender Diversity Faculty and Staff Council (SGDFSC) supports the LGBTQIA+ communities through programs and initiatives focused on growing a culturally rich campus through community building, advocacy, social justice and diversity education, leadership, and the development of informed citizens.

Black Faculty Staff Council
The Black Faculty and Staff Council (BFSC) is committed to the future of the University and Lawrence community. Throughout the year, BFSC discusses issues of concern to faculty, staff, and students. In BFSC, members will find opportunities to network with faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
First-Generation Faculty Staff Council
The First-Generation Faculty Staff Council promotes equity, inclusion, and belonging for faculty, staff, and students of all backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses at the University of Kansas, with a focus on current and former first-generation college students.
Jewish Faculty Staff Council
The Jewish Faculty and Staff Council plans social gatherings, discusses current events, and advocates for identity-based issues on campus. The group is unaffiliated with other Jewish organizations or groups and seeks to be a space for all Jews while elevating and celebrating intersectional identities.
Native Faculty Staff Council
The mission of the Native Faculty and Staff Council (NFSC) is to increase the recruitment, retention, leadership, and success of Native people at the University of Kansas. The Native Faculty and Staff Council promotes an academic and social environment at KU.
Women of Color Support Network
The Women of Color Support Network is a supportive community for all staff and faculty on the KU campus. The purpose of this group, in tandem with other affinity councils, is to bridge the gap of support for social interaction, professional development, and mentor access on the KU campus for Women of Color.
