Biography —
Barb Manning is the Program Manager for the Impact & Belonging Team. In her previous role, Barb worked with high school, undergraduate and graduate students for clinical and research experiences and their healthcare career pipelines as the KEE (KUMC Educational Experience) Program Manager at the Institute for Community Engagement. Barb is passionate about connecting students, individuals and communities to programs and opportunities that bring awareness, equity and inclusion and help break down barriers.
Barb received her Bachelor of Arts in Management and Human Relations from Mid-America Nazarene University and began her career at KU Medical Center in the School of Health Professions Nurse Anesthesia Department in 2016. She actively engages with community initiatives and serves with distinction on the Education to Employment Committee and Student Engagement Strike Team with the Wyandotte County Health Initiative Program (CHIP); the Kansas City, Kansas Public School Advisory Committee, and Rural Health Executive Committee; and as co-chair for the Workforce Pathway for the Rural Health Council. Barb is a connector and strongly believes in building partnerships with all stakeholders to create equitable spaces where everyone can flourish regardless of their background. Barb is extremely excited to join KU Medical Center’s Impact & Belonging.
