Welcome, Clara Valadares Kientz, to the Office of Civil Rights & Title IX
The Office of Civil Rights & Title IX at the University of Kansas is pleased to welcome Clara Valadares Kientz to the team as a Case Manager. Clara joins as a One KU employee, based in Lawrence.
In her role, Clara will independently review and implement requests for supportive measures and manage associated casework, including working with pregnant and parenting students and ensuring compliance with applicable university policies and federal and state laws. Clara will also support informal resolution processes and actively represent the Office of Civil Rights & Title IX at campus tabling and related outreach events.
Clara brings more than a decade of experience in case management and advocacy-related work within higher education settings, supporting survivors of sexual misconduct and interpersonal violence. These transferable skills will allow Clara to build relationships with any party that needs assistance to continue accessing their educational or employment spaces. She holds both a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies and Human Services and a Master of Science in Counseling and Student Development from Kansas State University.
Her strong background in case management, trauma-informed care, civil rights and Title IX processes, and intake coordination will be invaluable to our work and the KU community.
Please join us in welcoming Clara to the team!
