OCRTIX Investigator Casey Smith Published by National Title IX Organization

The Office of Civil Rights & Title IX (OCRTIX) is pleased to congratulate Casey Smith, J.D., on the publication of their article, “Redefining Advocacy: How ATIXA Made Me a Stronger Investigator,” by the Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA).  

In the article, Casey reflects on their professional journey from teaching public education to practicing law to Title IX investigations and shares how training, mentorship, and professional development have influenced their approach to the work. The piece also discusses the importance of maintaining the integrity of the investigative process and continuing to learn from others in the field. Casey serves as an EEO/Title IX Investigator with OCRTIX and earned a Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law.
